The Art Ark: Exploring Color

Yesterday, students had a unique opportunity to explore the science of color. They piled into the Art Ark and engaged in a hands-on investigation that required collaboration and curiosity. I am grateful that they had this experience. There was a projection room where students could change the background and make a puppet show Students explored prisms by spinning and using color filters I wonder, I see, I think (investigating paintings) Building towers Taking a closeup look at the colors of nature Tear art  Taking a look at real insects and their coloration These cylinders when shaken change color (students loved them!) Rhythm and Learning

Students are currently learning about drumming at our school. We are lucky enough to have an amazing PTA that makes sure we get exciting opportunities like drumming. Students started with an assembly where they used boom sticks to explore rhythm. Like these This coming week they will continue to learn about different drums, rhythms, and their origins. It has been surreal to walk through campus and hear different rhythms emanating from various classrooms. Student's energy is always up at this time of year, so this is a great way to harness it for good. I am always impressed with students talents and this is an opportunity to see it manifested in music. Students get to use drums like these
